International Christian Mission 2006 Latest : Why short-term missions trip?

CHURCH PLANTING INSTITUTE (CPI)

ICM's first training system, known as Church Planting Institute (CPI), has proven very successful. The curriculum was developed so that the Bible School could go to the people, not the people to the Bible School. ICM has training materials translated into more than 20 languages, and has trained tens of thousands of leaders since 1994 when the system was introduced.

Since C.P.I. was first launched,

  1. Thousands of churches are now using the program in some form or other.
  2. Countless Training Centers have been formed.
  3. Tens of thousands of workers have been trained.
  4. Thousands of new churches have been planted.
  5. The work is thriving in the Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Ukraine, Vietnam, Myanmar, and several other countries.
  6. Translation of the modules is started in about 30 languages.

Doors are wide open to us in all of these nations and language groups.

We have opportunities for service at many levels. There is legitimate work for every committed person who will function in harmony with the united purpose.

We are marching on in 2006

2006 is going to be a BIG year for this Ministry as we launch our program into new territories in Thailand, India and Indonesia.

Over twenty years since ICM. was founded by Hin Hiong and Marguerite Khoo. when they were in Bible College in Dallas, Texas, God gave them a Vision and a burden to open Bible Training Centres in the Frontier nations of the world. He gave them a special burden for South East Asia which led to their founding the respective ICM ministries in Asia.

From the very beginning, the Vision was to establish 1,000 Colleges before the year 2,000. These Centers were in the traditional form of Bible College including a Campus, full time Faculty, and a theological curriculum. In ten years, ICM was not anywhere close to its original goal. A paradyme shift was made and in1993, God gave ICM a new model of what those Training centers should be. This new model takes the training of leaders back to where it was in Bible days... in the local churches. One year after the launch, ICM passed their target of 1,000 Centers by a long way. Our target by 2006 is to establish at least 2,000 Church Planting Training Centers globally.
