Urgent Prayers

  1. For our Field Co-coordinator

Yesterday, our Field Co-coordinator, Duncan SEOW, was riding his motor bike towards a remote village in Nias to distribute food. Until last Saturday, his daily routine was to get on a Samaritan’s Purse helicopter with medical personnel to look for the injured and treat them in the remote areas of the island.

Since last Saturday when air support was pulled out of Nias, Duncan spent his time delivering food by motorcycle to remote villages which had gone without food for days. All other vehicular traffic could not travel to these villages due to the severe damage to the roads and bridges caused by the magnitude 8.7 earthquake which hit Nias Island . As he approached the village, a boy ran towards him and to avoid the collision, he veered sharply and lost control of the bike. He fell and lost consciousness.

Duncan was helped to the Nias Hospital and subsequently flown to the Medan Hospital where he was treated for concussion and abrasions. He is now recovering and needs your prayers. Sadly, his wallet with cash and credit card and other personal stuff were stolen when he passed out.

This afternoon, the 14 th of April 2005, I sent his wife and two young children Daniel, aged 4 and Andrew, aged 6 to be with him in Medan . They are all strong believers and his children’s desire is “to lay hands on daddy and pray for him”. I am sure God will honor their prayers.
